A quarter of a century…
March 15, 2012
Well, on the 13th of March 2012, I turned 25. It was a quiet affair and many cards and gifts were received and I thank you all for making the day so wonderful. But on this fateful day, I realised, for the first time, that I am ageing.
I know we all age and that we are on an inevitable road to granny-ness but I always adopted a ‘Peter Pan’ outlook on life. However, that mind-set wavered slightly on this particular day and I genuinely started to feel old. I know, I know, I am only 25 you say, but no matter how old you are, you do get the feeling of dread sometimes!
The day after, I pondered over my realisation, and I just got on with things like normal. The feeling had passed me by. And because of this act of heroism, I booked a holiday! Snaps for Faye (random Legally Blonde reference)!
I am almost certain that birthdays, after the age of 21, are there to test our resolve. Can you handle being 25? 30? 40? After experiencing the first aging milestone of turning 25, I think I can happily say… bring it on Mother Nature, bring it on!
